Are you waiting on the Lord for something? Do you feel like giving up? Have you lost all hope? Waiting on the Lord can be tiring, weary and exhausting especially when it seems like God is taking too long. We often feel like giving up and losing hope. But wait for Him, He has not forgotten about you.
Micah 7:7
Therefore i will look to the Lord; i will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me.
Everything we want in this life needs a bit of more patience, Theres nothing you just get immediately without waiting for it. If it’s your dreams, you have to wait for them to come to pass, if it’s the job, or career or marriage or child or promotion you have to wait patiently to have them. While waiting you act on them, you chase the requirements needed to get them. If it’s a job, you go look for one and you fill in an application to get that job. This shows you waiting while doing. Your not just sitting down for the job to come to you.
This also is the same way with God. When we look up to Him for our needs, we pray to Him and seek Him daily, ask Him to help us, save us from whatever situation we may be going through and to deliver us. We must know that we have to wait on Him. He hears our prayers and answers us but He wants us to wait on Him to receive from Him. Psalms 130:6 says my soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning. Imagine waiting till its morning, thats long! but here the psalmist was ready to wait on God more than the watchman. Thats how God wants us to wait on Him more than the watchman. Is it easy? Heck no! Its very hard, stressful and most of us just give up and move on and then we end up missing God’s best!, we miss what is more valuable and precious then any man or anything can offer to us. What comes from the Lord is everlasting, but what is outside of God’s will or what does not come from God is temporaly. 1 John 5:4. When it’s gone we regret and be angry with God and start to blame Him.
Why do we wait on the Lord
You may be wondering why do i need to wait for that long, Is God not hearing me? God is hearing you but you also have to know He wants the best for you. Here’s why God wants us to wait on Him;
To draw us closer to God- He makes us wait so we can be close to him, many times we are distant from Him, we are distracted by so many things, we don’t spend time with Him. Waiting on Him humbles us so we can seek Him and acknoweledge Him. James 4:8
To refine us- God makes us wait in certain seasons to break us and to mold us so we can be be prepared for what is coming, so that we are able to do what He has called us to do. God is more interested in His purpose for our lives. Zechariah 13:9
God’s own timing- We may have our time but also God has His own time. He wants to answer you at the proper time. You may have wait for 5 or 10 yrs but Habakkuk 2:3 says though it tarries wait for it. God’s timing is perfect never early never late. When the time is right, God will make it happen Isaiah 60:22
Psalm 27:14
Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!
Therefore brethren I want to encourage you to wait on the Lord. Don’t lose heart, don’t give up but be strong! be determined, look to God keep praying keep seeking Him trust His word! He will strengthen you; He will make you to become stronger whilst waiting on Him. You will not lose hope. You will be strong and unshakable. You will run and not be weary, you will walk and not faint Isaiah 40:31 you will not be consumed by how long you’ve waited but your strength will be renewed. God will act on your behalf Isaiah 64:4 Everyone will be amazed!. The lord will be good to you and do you good lamentation 3:25 and you will be blessed! For Blessed are those who wait for Him Isaiah 30:18
While you wait, study His word, fellowship with other brethren, pray continiously serve Him and walk in righteousness. You will be amazed at what God has done and you will testify. Those who wait on God will never be ashamed Isaiah 49:23
